Went down my local krapfit onfirst thing Monday after noticing a slow puncture. There were not customers in the branch at the time and the fitters were just sitting around. I was told that I needed an appointment as it was a mb car and to come back at 4.30. Sod that I will ring for the mobile fitter I told them and left.

I rang for a mobile fitter when I got home and was booked in today between 8.30am-1pm. I received a phone call at 1245 say due to unexceptional circumstances the fitter will not be attending today. but they could fit me in the next time one is in my area on 18th August. Anyway told them it crap service and will be phoning out RAC and be speaking to mb.

They really do live up to their krapfit name.

Sucks, constantly hear bad things about Kwikfit, i can’t fault ours at all. Three punctures (one repair, two replacements), always mobile Van, always within 24 hours of us calling, always under a 30 minute job.

Guess we got lucky on something down here. Lets hope RAC sorts it.

            Alright kezo

My previous scheme car (kia sportage) went to crapfit with a slowy. First time didn’t have the tyre in stock ( an unusual 19″ …….apparently) then when they did get it in they broke the naffing tpms sensor off had to run around for days the bingnaffingbing ringing in my rather attractive ears ?

In my experience, RAC will make a perfectly good repair by plugging it. Then Kwikfit will decide plugging it has ruined the tyre and they will replace it. It’s a living…

On the way to the airport I got a puncture. Pulled into Hamilton Kwikfit and they couldn’t help. Seemed like they couldn’t be arsed. Over the road to Motherwell and the service was completely different. They dealt with me straight away and I made my flight. What a difference 5 miles can make!!

I’ve noticed that when going to one of the KF near me coming in off the road there always sitting around doing nothing and no one to help.

There OK if you make an appointment but, no notice, no work. If only I could work out when I’m going to get a puncture.

I’ve a Tyre City near me too but unlike the no help one they don’t have the disabled facilities that MB like to shout about but they do attend to you at any time, appointment or not, unless there really busy and that’s understandable.

Rang mb this afternoon explaining above and all they said was sorry to hear that to which I replied I bet you are what are you going to do about it to which they replied we will make a note on the system!!

Must admit never had an issue with their mobile fitters before.

Will ring RAC in morning as out most of afternoon.

Must admit I’ve always had great service from the mobile team in the southwest. Typically done within 24 hours for worn tyres. No complaints. Given the volumes I guess it will always be a mixed bag.

Whilst they wouldn’t be my tyre centre of choice I can’t actually fault our local centre for the mb stuff I’ve needed over the last couple leases.

I had a mobile fitter out once a good few years ago and from what I remember everything was fine. (I’d like to think I’d remember if I’d had bad service)
I can’t recall ever having a problem in all the times I’ve been to one of their places but I’ve always called ahead to book myself in. Every time I have done that I’ve managed to get in on the same day

No mate called in local centre as always use please….. But it got my goat up when they refused to look at it or even take the tyresize or pump the tyre up to the correct pressure, because they were too busy doing nothing. Its not the first time my local centre have done it, I was also polite on the phone booking the mobile fitter infact had a good friendly chat with the lady on the phone. I lost my rag when I received a phone call just 15mins prior to their latest arrival. If they had rang earlier would have been more acceptable. I’m guessing itwas cancelled due to the weather.

I had a rant at mobilty because this could have happened to a less abled body person than me who needed their car perhaps for a hospital appoinment. Mb have logged it on their system and said they will be contacting kwikfit.

This has gone on since Monday, whitch for a simple puncture repair is crazy.

                                Anyway I’m always polite aren’t I 🙂

My Citroën dealer was telling me Kwik Fit usually the hot topic of conversation when on Motability training days amongst dealers how many customers are dissatisfied.

I can’t fault the mobile fitters that come here but the company themselves are a joke. Took a week to get a tyre for my sisters C4 where a independent tyre fitter could have gotten one in 24 hours.

Both my local ones are dire, the usual half arsed attitudes and only too keen to send you away. Last time I used them they broke the locking wheel bolt and refused to deal with that or sort it, claimed it was then a dealer issue even though they snapped it by using it with the pneumatic gun (I was watching the whole sh@tshow). Dealer quoted up to £400 to sort, depending on if they could manage to get the mangled locking bolt out without cutting the alloy in half…and not a MB chargeable fee. Luckily I had 4 months left on lease, so the car went away to auction like that.

At the time I was going through 4 tyres a year, so it was a pain, thank god I found a Tyre City 15 miles away who were great. Sadly they are now Kwikfit branded, just hope the staff are still ok to deal with.

Only time I had a puncture was in Aberdeen, Kwikfit Causewayend were great, sorted both (2 rear punctures) despite being 10 mins to closing when I rolled up, so they stayed after closing time to assist.

I did the same stellar mileages prior to Motability, and used an independent local firm, always brilliant service and they must have liked me as we had 3 cars, using 12 tyres a year on average.

Better prices too. But clearly MB need a national chain to ensure everyone can be served wherever they are, so their choices are somewhat limited.

An update to the never ending saga.

I left off with RAC coming out which they did but couldn’t plug it as it was to near to the sidewall. I then booked on the Motability online booking form for yesterday at my local KF. When I arrived @9.30 I sat patiently in the waiting room whilst they fnished nattering in the workshop, a few minutes later someone came and asked if they could help. Told them I had a mb booking for 9.30 to which they replied theres no indication of a booking on our system and they couldn’t do it that day (bare in mind theworkshop empty) but could book me in for today @9.30. Exhausted and not least fuming with it all I just said o.k see you tomorrow.

hallelujah 9 days later living with a puncture they finally fitted a new tyre 🙂 🙂 🙂

My opinion still stands, they really are Krap Fit!
