Hi everyone! It’s been a long while since I’ve checked back in on the Forum. Hope you and your loved ones are keeping well and in the best of health.

Having last asked about advice on a replacement SUV for my current DS7 back in Dec ’21, I can reveal I have placed an order for a Kia Sportage  226bhp 1.6 GDI HEV Auto in GT-Line S trim. Even though the HEV was on the scheme for a very short period in that 2nd quarter before it came off, I was lucky enough to secure a slot. I was chuffed to hear my application finally got approved and accepted by Motability.

However, I had placed this order way back in April ’22, and it’s been an absolute ongoing mission to chase this up with my dealership with many back and forth emails and calls than I care to count. As far as I stand with the dealership, the order still currently on-track and is yet to be honoured. I understand this is a popular SUV, especially in this HEV guise so I know it will take time to arrive.

And for the first time, the new car will be fitted with a 120kg 4-way boot hoist (from Brig Ayd Controls) for my Rehab One Vantage mobility scooter.

Really hope this arrives soon as my own mobility has taken a nosedive in recent months and I could really do with some positive news.

That’s correct. I knew I was going to be waiting a while, only I didn’t know it would be this long. Having no idea what the average waiting times were at the time of applying for the Sportage or what others were waiting on for their vehicle.

That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a new car,  I ordered my sportage HEV gt line s in April 22 and received it in November 22.

Have you been on the Kia sportage uk forum ?  https://www.kiaownersclub.co.uk/threads/2022-sportage-order-delivery-dates.67404/  yours seems to be way to long.I would go speak to your dealer and request update and to see via there system where things stand.

@Dave147 I completely agree. Great to hear you got yours, you must be delighted. How does it fair on the roads after nearly a year of ownership? How is the real-world mpg gains like? And is your Sportage adapted in any way?

@Paul No I haven’t, thank you for the link. I did go through the BMW and Mercs forums when I owned the 3-Series and the GLA but didn’t think to go on the Kia one. Will have a look and see how other owners have faired.

Hi midge,  I’m really pleased with the sportage,  coming from a tiguan I find the car very quiet and pretty smooth, also plenty of speed when you put your foot down in sports mode.
I’m averaging 40 to 44 mpg at the moment, mostly journeys of 30 miles or less, haven’t done a long trip yet.  I haven’t felt the need to adapt the car in any way as the inbuilt tech is amazing,  I’m sure you’ll enjoy the car when you eventually get it , hopefully not to much longer to wait.
