Kia Sportage 3 VS GT model

Hi hoping someone more knowledgeable than me and even my local Kia dealer can help.

As far as Kia’s official website says GT trim is one below that of 3. I’m trying to find out if the GT model still gets the big double 12inch displays in the cabin, my dealer is saying it does but has no example to show other than the GTs range topping model, but Kia’s owns spec sheet says it does not get it. I didn’t want to fork out the money when GT is 150 more than the 3 if I will get a reduced screen size. Pretty funny that my dealer doesn’t even know.

Gilders – as well as cars looking very different in the flesh to the brochures or online, colours can look very different in a showroom (under artificial light, spot lights etc) than they do in daylight. Bright / sparkly colours in a showroom can look dull and flat outdoors. I’d check the blue one outside before committing. I’m sure it will still be nice, but better to be safe than sorry. I have fallen in love with colours in showrooms and then be underwhelmed when I’ve seen them outside.

What are the chances that GT Line S is missing features due to the chip shortage? I’ve placed an order but concerned that it wont have some of the features it boasts.

Thanks for your detailed description gilders. Only yesterday I ordered a Sportage 4 on motability I went with the hev in white. The ‘4’ does come with the all gloss black back and wheel arches and Matt chrome. If you wanted to order you have to tell the dealer to ring motability and give them their dealers code and motability process the order there and then . Within 5 mins it was registered on my online account. I tried to push my dealer for mats but his boss wasn’t having any of it. When I first enquired on 1st April I was told 9 weeks for delivery when I ordered yesterday I was told 7 months

Just to add to my previous review of various colours I’ve seen and how some seem to differ greatly from online.

I have now seen the Dark Penta Metal, in very sunny daylight. I’d previously seen this colour on a KIA Ceed on a less bright day and it was extremely dark, almost black. In today’s sunny weather it was still a very dark grey, but was obviously grey. It does suit the car very well and I think my short list is either white or penta metal, with blue as an outside chance.

The most impressive thing about this dark grey is that the grey wheels on the GT Line S look best with this colour. I’m personally not keen on the GT Line S’s grey wheels with other colours. I think the alloys on the other trim levels look nicer, or gloss black wheels on ‘4’ and Gt Lines would look good as they’d match the gloss black grille and other plastic trim (not that that’s an option in the UK).

I think on the motability scheme the 4 is better value than the 3 £400 extra for a car that retails over £6k more    The pan sunroof and sound system alone would be enough to sway me but it also has LED everything and more safety systems and a wireless charger although if CarPlay isn’t wireless(don’t know if it is?) I find that pointless

Just seen that all the HEVs are no longer on KIA’s website. I have 2 test drives booked for Tuesday and was planning on ordering. Seems unlikely now.

Just received this direct from KIA –

“Sorry, we’ve confirmed Sportage HEV has been removed from the scheme with immediate effect due to lead times stretching into next year. Any order already in the dealer’s system with the Motability application completed can still be fulfilled. Kind regards Kia UK Limited”

I’ll repost on other Sportage waiting time thread.
