Does anyone know if another driver is able to drive a motability vehicle on their own insurance? Or is the scheme classed as a lease?

Current car: Mini Countryman EV in very shiny black!

Previous car: MG HS Exclusive in nice shiny black.

AFAIK; only drivers insured with RSA, tied to your current lease are able to drive your Motability vehicle.

You can have upto 3 drivers (from memory) for your motabilty car. Rules do apply regarding location, age and endorsements etc.

Can you not insure them with RSA?

Edited to add; obviously it has to be for the benefit of the person on the lease.

                Hi

Only registered named drivers with Motability are allowed to drive the vehicle purely and soley for your needs otherwise they will be prosecuted  for being in charge of a vehicle with no insurance, tax and mot, be warned.

                Take care, Mike
