i knew then we would be together

2 years later we married

even when the army said no girls forward of a line in germany

you left and came with me getting a job in the naafi

20 years you followed or waited for the call or the knock

breathing a sigh when redundancy meant no more s**t

a settled home and family close by at last

but then in 03 roles reversed and i get home

to find its me thats got the knock

you wont be home again a bleed on the brain

it was quick they said

17 years today without you
