Just some info for anyone who’s ordered/thinking of ordering a new Peugeot.

I got a call from them today regarding my 308 SW GT Premium order.

The dealer informed me that Peugeot were making changes to my trim level. Wireless charging would be removed and the 3D dashboard display would also be removed.

It’s not just a shortage of semiconducter chips that has caused delays. A lot of materials used in higher trim levels are also scarce at the moment. For example quartz in the 3D infotainment display.

So I now have the option of cancelling the order or settling without those features. Having the standard 2D LCD screen doesn’t sound too bad, but I really wanted wireless charging. Especially considering the advance payment. I told them I’d need a day or two to think about it. What do you think i should do?

He told me his wife works for Audi and it’s the same story over there. Higher trim levels are taking longer than entry/mid-level specs.

Btw I made the order mid march and estimated delivery is late August to mid September.

After seeing this thread yesterday I called local Citroën dealer re c5x I ordered in November to pick his brains.

I ordered Shine plus and although now removed my order is fine. Re features being removed he said Citroën have removed some things off lower end models, he mentioned camera, parking sensors on c3 and c3 aircross but nothing being removed from higher end models and assured me everything on our c5x Shine plus will be on it.

Hi Kezo. Yes you are right – it’s a big car for a 1.2 engine which is why I had originally ordered the 1.6. We need space for two folding wheelchairs and room for shopping. Having shopped around at the time it was the best of what was available. I needed the massaging seats due to lower back pain. We have always had a diesel for the past 15 years but due to multiple very short trips around town mainly, wanted to avoid the diesel due to DPF issues. Our current Tiguan R-line 2.0 tdi has been fab, but due to these constant stop start short journeys, I find the DPF pretty much stays in regen leading to poor mileage of around 20mpg. A petrol would warm up quicker too and probably return a little better as a result and reach a comfortable temp sooner.

from all the reviews that I’ve seen on YouTube and read on the net, it seems the 1.2 has pretty good torque down at the low end, and hence would suit town driving. I don’t drive with a heavy foot and normally cruise around 60mph on the long runs. So hoping that the Peugeot suits our needs better due to the limited boot space in our current Tiggy.

I would expect you get a fair bit more than 20mpg out of the 5008. Sorry I assumed you were having a 7 seater for seating 3-4 kids. For what your likely be using it for, shopping, gowing down town along with a longer journey maybe now and again, I’d expect it to be more than adequate for your needs. I’m jealous of the massage seat though 🙂

Thanks for replying. I certainly hope we do get at least around 25-30mpg around town with the 5008 GT. We got a grant to cover the full AP AND the massaging seats so not costing us anything . This is one of the reasons I have cancelled and reordered as the whole grant process would have to start all over  again.

We certainly won’t be using the 7 seats – it was purely for utilising the size of boot! We have two wheelchair users – my son and my daughter , but I also suffer from chronic back pain due to a spinal injury.
I rang around every local dealership within our range but none had the petrol 1.2 for a test drive – only the 1.5 diesel unfortunately, which I drove and found to be very quiet compared to our tiggy.
