I do hope that Motability has the good sense to see that as with the Manual / Auto gearbox situation, the difference in manufacture cost needs to be reflected in the AP allowance. Not really sure what the cap on BHP has to do with which vehicles are on the scheme unless it is to do with insurance purposes?…. if that’s the case, restrict the age criteria. One of the reasons for getting a car on the scheme is because money is tight and Motability is able to help. However, there are cars out there that are more economical (such as PHEV’s Hybrids) that are not on the scheme.
