    Which Mobility Car

      This cold weather with the heating on in an old leaky house I suddenly realised that the air is so dry, hands cracking, wooden floors creaking.

      It seems the solution may be a humidifier. Or shall I just put a weight on the kettle switch and run it in a few rooms?

      Any advice would be appreciated.

        I used to get really bad dry cracked hands in the winter, my knuckles would be cut to ribbons. I went gluten-free in September and have not had any issues this year. I’m not saying it’s entirely gluten related, but it has helped my dry cracked skin.

          Get some emollient susch as Cetroban or Epimax for you hands . I get Cetroban on my reapear but, Epimax does the same thing and is alot cheaper, and considerably cheaper than going gluten free.

          You could also place a bowl of water near a radiator or buy radiator hangers such as these that help the humidityy in the room and the dry heat rad’s give off.

          At the more expensive end, you could fit a PIV unit

            Good sound advice  there Kezo. Just to add, don’t forget to ventilate your house as well. I have a Therma Pro Indoor Hygrometer Humidity Gauge Indicator Digital Thermometer Room Temperature and Humidity Monitor.

            Air comfort indicator: Humidity meter shows the comfort level of your home, based on current humidity level, always be aware of your home conditions. Widely use: Indoor hygrometer ensures proper temperature and humidity control, which has important skin, allergen and other health benefits;

              I have something similar joss to the Thermopro, only mines round. Out of interest I have just checked the memory – Before I put the heating on earlier humidity was 53% its now showing 66% since putting the heating on around dinner time.  Can’t remember what’s classed as a good humity level but I’d guess around 55-60%
