How was 2019, health wise, for you

I am fortunate to be relatively healthy, I had a wee heart scare but on meds now that have it fixed.

Mrs Brydo has been in hospital a few times and has had a very poor year indeed. I’m hoping she has a better 2020 but I’m not holding my breath.

Its true what they say without your health you have nothing.

Bit of a mixed bag really. While managing to keep out of long stays in hospital, it is still somewhere I have to go more often than I would like. Latest thing to knock me off my feet is the renal failure stage 4.

Now that is an other set of regular hospital appointments. This week I have been struck down with  renal/UTI infection. Not nice and very painful.

    Also recently diagnosed with C.O.P.D

I am hoping 2020 is a better year medical.

I hope so Joss, life can be hard, of that there’s no question, so here’s wishing you a happy and healthy 2020 my friend.

I have Multiple Scloerosis and this past year I started a new, 2 treatments a year medication which, hopefully, will dramatically slow down, if not stop the gradual worsening of everything in my life. Here’s hoping it works. I haven’t had any major issues since the first treatment and I’m about due for the next treatment.  Just a case of getting used to taking a nap every day – if I do that, I’m capable of getting through the day relatively sensibly, if I don’t I have to work at every little thing.

Truth is, with this rotten condition, anything which isn’t a reduction in ability is considered a win. An actual win is off the cards, so any reduction in degeneration has to be taken as a win…

For me I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in 2017 but all caught early and had brachytherapy treatment and 2019 was the year I was signed off as all clear and can look to the future .

Being a career for two adults disabled sons it was aworrying time but I’ve got my smile back now ?

2019 was a nice, quiet year for me, health-wise:  MS (r/r) was stable; Spine (fractured coccyx + collapsed and detached vertebra L3-L4) more or less behaved itself other than a week on total bed-rest back in April; Nerve damage along the surgical scar lines (right side mastectomy, then reconstructive surgery, then left side reduction surgery) finally stated to calm down.

Meh. So what if my top half will always look like a patchwork quilt.  It’s still waaay better than the alternative.

    🙂
