Test drove the Ford Capri today and absolutely loved it.

The drive is so smooth and quiet with hardly any corner roll. The torque is insane, best acceleration I’ve experienced.

The car was in black with the larger 21” wheels and it looked great in person, a lot better than the bright yellow models you see online.

Currently have a Tiguan so the VW steering wheel controls didn’t bother me as I’m used to them.

Boot size is very big. The wheelchair went in fully assembled with wheels on.

Getting in and out was a breeze with the large door entry’s.

Prefered it over the Enyaq and Cupra Terramar which i have also test driven in the past few weeks.

Ignore the fact that it shouldn’t have the Capri name and you’ve got a great car.

Went to look at the ford Explorer saw the Capri and I was hooked. Test drove one last week and ordered it straight away. Found it strange that the boot is bigger than the explorer. I don’t really understand the hate with the name? I had 2 Capri’s in the 80s and yes they were iconic but they also rusted badly, had heavy steering and had absolutely no grip in the wet! its just a name and pretty much anyone under 50 wont know what the originals were anyway lol

          getting it early May.

I like the Capri, mainly due to the memories like @Jonnybones.

BUT I wouldn’t pay over the odds for one, quite happy with the Enyaq £££

I don’t mind what I’ve seen of it so far. I just don’t know why Ford decided to use that name when it bears no resemblance to the original coupe versions whatsoever? It’s not like they did a R5 or Fiat500  re-imagining job. The only thing I can think of is that the Capri was often thought of as the European Mustang (especially the MK1 V6) and I do think this new one is very Mach-e like? Maybe they should have called it Capri-e or Capreeeee! 😂

Ultimately come renewal time next year (DWP gods permitting) the first question will be how easy is it to bend my head under the roofline getting in and out or it’s a non-starter regardless of what the AP may be by then!
