      Hi all,

We are due a change and have a Tiguan allspace.. Volkswagen have been awful since getting the car, so we are getting something different.

Looking at the Focus Estate and the Astra sports tourer… anyone had any experience?

      TIA

Hi Mark, we’ve had a few Focus’s but not estate, the boot on the hatchback was not big enough for Mrs joes wheelchair so we got an Octavia hatchback which has a decent size boot.We then got an Octavia estate which has an enormous boot but it’s no longer on the scheme. Sadly there are not many estates on the scheme now as the manufacturers seem to be going down the route of SUV’s. I’d have a look at the Octavia hatch, it’s got a great size boot and the 1L petrol mild hybrid is very efficient and powerful enough to do all the overtaking you need on the outside lane of the motorway.

Always had the Astra Sports Tourers until both Vauxhall and my local dealership started messing me about on my last collection. I refused the car and made the change to a Toyota Corolla TS and have loved every single minute of the car.

Economy is in a completely different league to the ones you mentioned. I’m almost ready to change and my average fuel use for just under three years is 59 mpg and I live in a very hilly part of Derbyshire. There’s no Corolla TS on the Motability list at the minute but I’m sure they’ll be back soon.

Agreed, I had a Toyota Corolla TS GR Sport as a company car before I retired last year, probably the best car I’ve ever had and as you say the mpg is incredible. The Suzuki Swace is still on the scheme though and is virtually the same car though I don’t think the Swace is as well speced.

I’ve had the 1.5 diesel active x focus estate for over 18 months now, great car, highly recommended mate.  Huge boot, quality motor ✅

                Also C5x and 408 are both estates…

And I’ve had the diesel ST focus estate on the scheme in the past, can’t go wrong with a focus estate in my book ?

I prefer the lower seat height too, SUV’s are difficult for me to get into, I’d deffo have a test drive but I’m biased as I’ve always loved Fords ✅
