6 months ago i purchased a DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone with RC Controller.

It wasn’t cheap costing a whopping £425.00p refurbished.

I took it to a local field, and relatively quickly it rose majestically to about 30ft.

It hovered for about 30 secs or so, did a few 360 degree turns then it headed off in a north easterly direction at a mightily impressive 15mph.

That was the last time i ever saw it.

DJI as a company has some very good drones, the mini 3 pro is also decent at nearly £

I guess the return to home feature in this case meant return to the previous owner who lived beyond the hill ?

On a more serous note did you buy it from a reputable DJI or Drone stockist as a refurbished model or off ebay that was sold has refurbished but had a fault knowing to the seller?

            lol @jos!

With hindsight i am kinda able to laugh now, but at the time i was a broken man.

Mrs Gee quickly banned me from ever buying another drone.

Very recently i’ve been looking at RC ships.

Yes it was an ebay purchase!

The seller has great feedback though.

Did you contact them and say “it flew over hills and far away” and you would like refund as it was faulty!

Were there any other drones about that could have locked onto the same frequency?

My son use to have a nitro RC buggy.

I just completed a flight this afternoon with my DJI Mini.

Like yourself, it is second hand, and really you should have done some research before flying it.

A quick search of youtube should have been your first port of call and a software reset.  You can then register the drone with yourself.

The drone will pick up your location as the return to home point if you give it the 60 seconds to acquire the 15 or so satellites.

Its unfortunate what happened and easily avoidable.

I used to fly RC helicopters, and these had 1m diameter carbon fibre blades spinning around and were very scary.   The Thunder Tiger Raptor 90 Nitro was the weapon of choice.

You must do your research as first principles.
