Hi,

Car going back next week, the very bottom edge of the drivers door has a 1.5 inch scuff where it hits the garden wall when my OH gets out. It is small but you can see the metal. Is it worth touching up or should I just leave it?

I really wouldn’t worry about it,  in my experience they are very relaxed about condition these days

I’d leave it you can often make matters worse by attempting a touch up, for a garage repairing that from scratch would probably be easier rather than having to unpick a touch up job iykwim

The MiL car went back with quite a lot of scuff marks in the paint like that, they still got the gcb & that was really visible from where the driver clipped a street sign then instead of stopping like a normal person dragged it down the flank of the car,garafe & motability didn’t care tho

Definitely wouldn’t do a self repair.

When you took it for its MOT the garage would have taken photos and as Markw and Richard have said the gcb is paid out on much worse ‘wear and tear’ than that you described.

I wouldn’t worry, my qashqui has a key mark right down the passenger side doors (still think it’s a two faced jealous neighbour), I spoke to motability and the insurance as the car goes back in July, they said leave it,  I sent photos too and they said it’s fine and I should still get my GCB
