I’m really in a cleft stick.

I can order my replacement car now or in Q1.

ive been holding out to see if the Škoda/Seat PHEVs appear on the scheme in Q1, but, and this is a big but,

i could order a Tiguan  elegance now at a good AP and from stock available, or a superb SEL from stock.

it’s a bit like Russian roulette, do I pull the trigger now in the position that the APs may go up, or hold off to see if the PHEVs appear, but could end up paying a higher AP?

I got burnt, last time around, when I held off getting a Kodiaq SEL 4WD thinking it would come down in price and…it was taken off the scheme.

      decisions, decisions….

Go with the stock Tiguan or Superb now.

Regardless of any Brexit deal being done, I can only imagine that many APs will increase in January.

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, all one can do is order at the price now and look you could ask the dealer if the price drops will they re-order in q1 unless you able to exchange right now.. Maybe you been extended due to covid but usually you order the next car 3 months before.

Holding out may work for or against you but from my experience of being able to be order in q1 is that prices have always risen and never gone down on the 3 cars i have had on the scheme from q4 to q1 since i ordered my 1st ever car when i joined the scheme.

Plus also any new car out you may have to wait for it to be built and it to come on the scheme.

The current car i have has risen £1350 in ap since i started looking / till now

I had a test drive late summer 2019 as i was sick of doing winter test drives. it rose £600 in two quarters. before i could order in jan 2020

So i’d say order now and often you can get a bit off the ap on a vw from some dealers. Vertu Volkswagen offering Up to £449 or jct600  Up to £250 Advance Payment contribution (or Motability Cashback) with selected new Volkswagen cars. deals subject to availability from stock

Indications suggest Q1 will have price hikes a cross the board.  Order now to lock in the price.   If any APs  come down in Q1 reorder at that time.

              Well,

after a long thought about it and discussion with my dealer, I have pulled the trigger

I went for an in stock Skoda Superb 150ps DSG estate in Quartz Grey.

dealer gas confirmed that if the PHEV comes on in Q1 I can cancel abd reorder, but he very much doubts it.

car shoukd be ready second week in January

I think you’ve beat me to it! my local dealer offered me that exact spec car from UK stock with an early Jan delivery. I’m not placing my order until the weekend so looks like I may have a long wait, unless they have some others available. Business Grey was my second choice colour and there were two of those available last time I asked . . .

Well done Southamman. A great car – Superb in name and nature – and looks very nice in grey. Nice that you have the option to change as well, so sounds like a win-win to me.

Top man, we did have a look at the Superb PHEV estate, but I was just too tight the Superb was £3749 against the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV at £1699, I just could not justify an extra £2000

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Yes, buisness grey, a silver, a black and one other dark silver were the other colours offered. So yiur business grey is still there, at the moment lol

Exactly why i went for the Soul EV as it was in stock so cancelling is not a problem and the price is locked in. Well done my friend has a superb and its……superb

Great choice Southamman. Really wanted to go for the superb but getting in and especially out was sadly a major hitch.  Already having the Kodiaq I was more than happy to stay with Skoda, but they’ve taken standard equipment from the Kodiaq SE L now that I’ve ordered a Tarraco, getting a fantastic deal with Euro Seat, Crawley.  Like you I was going to wait for Q1, but to be on the safe side ordered now.

Enjoy the Superb, it’s a beautiful car.
