Ordered our new Hyundai Tucson the first week in January and was advised build in February, with May collection. Around 16 weeks in total.

Got an email today, build now “should” be March and “roughly” arriving into dealership July.

First of many delays I suspect or should I be more optimistic?

I visited our nearest Hyundai dealer before Christmas for one of our daughters. They told me then that they were quoting 24 weeks for most cars and I suspect that it’s a bit longer now, so I’d think that 6 months is about average. Hyundai were the least affected manufacturer at the outset of the chip shortage, but now seem to be in the same boat as all the others.

We ordered a Hyundai Tucson at the beginning of November and were told that delivery should be beginning of March. Dealer contacted me yesterday with an update and said everything is still on schedule for a March delivery. Really impressed with Hyundai dealer communication up to this point, should be 16 weeks from ordering to delivery. Will let you know what happens when delivery date arrives.

My Hyundai Tucson was also ordered at the beginning of November. My dealer has always been honest on delivery times eversince I have dealt with them. She has updated me every month. I also received a call yesterday to say the car is still on schedule for the beginning of March. She sent me a list of registration plates to choose from today.  She said most Hyndai’s are now on 6 month delivery times even longer for some higher spec cars.

Orders in the first week of January would be a March build. The timeframe of mid to end July sounds correct. They are built in Korea so shipping takes a few.
