Clean Damage From Leaking AAA Battery

I’ve got a Bontrager bike light. I’ve had a AAA battery leak in it. I discovered it after the light turned itself on, I noticed immediately and removed the very wet battery and cleaned the damage. The spring end looks to have the early stages of corrosion. I don’t want to buy a new light, what’s the best way to clean it?

Forget the last. It’s knackered, I’ve cleaned it, changed the batteries and it won’t switch off, I’ll have to buy a new one.

Cheers all, I’ve got some electric contact cleaner I use on Mrs Joe’s stairlift, I’ll have a go with that.

You may have to remove the PCB if it has seeped underneath the board.

I’ve given it a good clean using Halfords electrical contact cleaner. The springs that looked corroded were on the side of the light with no components so I separated it which allowed a good drenching. I’ll give it a few days to properly dry out and try it.
