My son brought this home from work today.
Absolutely awful in every respect. If this is the future, I’m glad I’m 64.

Current car: Mini Countryman EV in very shiny black!
Previous car: MG HS Exclusive in nice shiny black.

Loads of owner reviews on Youtube also saying how bad it is.

I heard on the grapevine Motability is considering the Ami as a replacement to the invacar ?
June 20, 2023 at 9:27 pm #223942It’s devoid of any comfort, rides like a dodgem car and everyone stares and laughs at you.

PsuaderBerty, the 90’s called, they want their Citroen jokes back. Citroen are “wiping the floor with the opposition…” based on actual facts.
On the subject of the Ami, its designed for a very particular niche market and is meant to be an alternative to public transport or riding a bike. It doesn’t pretend to be anything else. When a manufacturer tries to be innovative, they won’t always succeed but at least they aren’t serving repetitive bilge like VW.
June 23, 2023 at 11:20 am #2241652 of the best cars I’ve ever had were Citroens.
June 23, 2023 at 12:02 pm #224169Opel Rock e Extreme (Ami spin off)

They are cars that aren’t cars if you get what I mean. They don’t score brilliant in reviews and personally wouldn’t be seen dead in one lol.

BertyGood grief, I was being flippant, some people take things too seriously.
The AMI is designoed for a specific purpose. Much of France is very rural and there have always been cars produced to help eldely widows.
Their spouse has died and are essentially prisoners in their own homes, as they do not have adriving license. They always had voiture sans permis (VSP) essentially a small vehicle which can be driven without a driving license. The AMI is one such car,a small 2 seater vehilce with a top speed of 24mph or thereabouts.
The AMI also has its place in crowded cities as ameans of transportation.
The Carwow review was not a serious review, it was being more flippant than my comments.
The AMi is a very good car for its designated market.
June 25, 2023 at 10:01 am #224303The Ami is not as good or as strong as in Smart for two triden safety cell in a smash but having said that the Smart was way too pricey, to be honest i liked the Renault twizzy better, I think the build quality is way too low which is a shame there I think will be some better Chinese built cars like this but better built and there some already but not for sale here yet.

DougieBI’m not saying that Citroen don’t make great cars, nor that I don’t know that it’s for a very specific market, I’m just saying that in MY personal experience of driving in it, it’s awful. I mean. seriously awful.
