It’s £7.00 at the one I go to. They do a cracking job. ” tube washing, one for the bodywork and one for the wheels.

Coming soon...BMW X2 sDrive 20i M Sport 5dr Step Auto In November 2025March 2, 2025 at 12:25 pm #298702Prices vary near me, £7 is average. I paid £9 last year at a new car wash, it was the worst car wash job I’ve ever had, didn’t do the door shuts or dress the tyres. No wax and no hand drying.
I prefer to use a machine wash at the petrol station, £4 for around 8 minutes the machine takes contactless payments. I then hand wax it with Demon Shine. It works well if you wash it every other week and don’t let it get too dirty.
March 2, 2025 at 2:12 pm #298711I have a rigorous car washing regime . . . . .
It gets cleaned every time it goes back to the garage for a service or repair.
I do vacuum the inside now and again and wipe the number plates and lights though.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Is it a myth that the machines cause swirl marks on the paint?
Our local hand car wash has varying prices from £8. I paid £9 and they did an excellent job.

It’s not a drive thru type, I’d never use one of those. It’s a bay on the forecourt, it has 4 lances, one with a brush, one with a hot & cold water jet, one that dispenses thick white foam and one that dispenses wax.
March 2, 2025 at 9:31 pm #298727@Jojoe That sounds handy, wonder if they’d let me go in it? 🙂
Almost fell over in the shower again tonight, not good when you’re on your own, I don’t suppose my cat would be much help!.
I can just imagine the conversation,
Me “Xena, call an ambulance”
Xena “Me? Ow?” 😸

You need to get social services to fit some grab handles, or use a bath board across the bath that lets you sit whilst showering. They fitted some handles for us.

March 3, 2025 at 3:53 pm #298748@Jojoe I have a walk-in wet room, grab bars on the side of the shower and a plastic seat. I put up a glass screen as it was flooding the rest of the bathroom floor. Problem is my balance is unpredictable, never know when I’m going to loose it!.
I try to wait until one of the kids are here and go in then but nobody was able to be here. None of them drive, 2 live about 10 miles away and the eldest lives in Amsterdam.
More “clumsiness” this morning, was moving a 15Kg press off the workbench and dropped it, luckily it hit the floor before rolling onto my foot so no real damage!. Time I was wrapped up in bubblewrap I think!.

March 3, 2025 at 10:59 pm #298766i use the imo car wash local branch – an advance bundle (£72 for 12 medium triple wash programme) – no damage to paint work etc… and i’ve used them for years on most recent leases tbh
Back in the day a delwarship would wash and vacum after a service, but not happened in the last few years.

my Toyota dealer still does after service will be doing early April when my car is a year old
March 5, 2025 at 10:19 am #298833Oh well £12 down with mud still on the sills lower rear bumper, wheels didn’t come up clean as I’d expect when I washed cars myself back in the day, also Volvo wheels have blistering on them, truly wouldn’t expect that yet, 30,000 miles..
Tbh I’m not even sure the car wash staff are meant to be there..🤔…ripped off wont be going there ever again
March 5, 2025 at 3:48 pm #298880So see the mud splashes on the bumper, that’s still there after the wash, yet the lanes were dry all the way back.
March 6, 2025 at 5:44 am #298925That’s terrible mine really took their time went Monday 10.30 I would expect mine be very busy at weekend too quick to do a good job then !
March 6, 2025 at 9:25 am #298935Tuesday 10.20 am tbh I was having 2nd thoughts and should’ve left it as there were a few cars being washed then I turned in, ended up a row of cars behind…
wrong time I guess, still never go there again, the wheels look like they were just power washed and left, won’t be going there again..🤨
