I don’t think that it does Steve. There is an all new X1 due out next year which will undoubtedly have a digital dash and as the X2 is based on it I’m sure that the next X2 will have it but that probably won’t be until 2023 earliest.

Our last VW Tiguan had a digital dash and our new X1 doesn’t. I don’t miss it at all. What I can thoroughly recommend is the Head Up Display option which is far better than a digital dash and renders the conventional dash redundant.

Whilst all new models  are getting digital dashboards now, my feeling that they are overrated was confirmed last week when I had a Mercedes GLB for a week. On 3 days the digital dash didn’t work at all and I had a completely black instrument cluster and no idea what speed I was doing!

@steve No not currently. It is one thing that really lets an outstanding car down is the somewhat dated dash board. But as Glos says “There is an all new X1 due out next year which will undoubtedly have a digital dash and as the X2 is based on it I’m sure that the next X2 will have it but that probably won’t be until 2023 earliest”.

Remember Digital dashes are cheaper for manufacturers to install, they are not necessarily better, they do have the facility to add on lots of “features” which appeal to motoring journalists who are looking for something to fill their articles. But…. most of these features are things the owner would not use after the first few weeks of ownership

Remember switching the map to digital dash, wow that’s awesome…never used it since.

Glad to hear it’s not just me Mitch! I’m all for new technology and use an iPhone and iPad regularly, but I just don’t get on with touchscreen systems in cars. They are nigh on impossible to use accurately on the move as your finger is wiggling around with the movement of the car. It’s distracting and dangerous. That’s where BMW’s iDrive is fantastic. You have all the modern day functionality (including touchscreen for those who want it) but everything can be controlled by a rotary controller that is far easier, safer and more accurate. BMW’s voice control is great as well. The one in our VW Tiguan was beyond useless.

Totally agree. For me this was why I chose the Kona Electric over the ID.3. And VW voice control, makes you lose control!
