GeorgieNot really, except for 1 exception: after years of not having them, this year DH and I got ourselves an Easter Egg each. £16 of very bad value for money (Oscar the Grouch – I mean my DH) but yummy, cheerful and uplifting (me) chocolate in an amusing shape (steady there – I mean egg-shaped!).
Considering we’re currently saving at least £10 a week on petrol, I don’t think having Easter Eggs this year is the Crime of the Century. 😉
April 8, 2020 at 1:55 pm #111367Definitely less.

April 8, 2020 at 2:15 pm #111369Although some of it is down to things being unavailable on line. Tried to get Dulux weather shield gloss paint delivered but nobody delivering.

GeorgieYou’re right, Brydo. Still plenty of DIY shops open but you have to go in person – which is a non-starter for many of us at the best of times.

April 8, 2020 at 3:44 pm #111381We’re spending more on food having to get 2 deliveries a week, min basket is £40 or there’s a £3 t0 £9 extra charge depending on which supermarket. We previously got one delivery and either used the local shops (3/4 mile) or a click-n-collect at our local (5 miles) Asda.
Unfortunately one of the problems with having an adult Autistic son is his range of foods is quite limited, for example all he drinks is coffee we got brought back from the US or Dr.Pepper and we can only get 3 bottles per order at the moment.
What I’m trying to do (assuming I can get a delivery) is make the basket up to £40+ by asking the older folk near me if there’s anything they want. Strangely Asda wouldn’t take back any of the unsuitable substitutions they had on our last order, just told me to claim them back online. So I did and passed them out among my neighbours!.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 8, 2020 at 4:54 pm #111385I’m spending less but to help keeping the economy going I’ve treated myself to a new iPad.
April 8, 2020 at 5:55 pm #111388typical, i treated myself to a new h4h hoody and its been roasting ever since lol.

Mike CooperB+q are only selling the following:
Hardware
Plumbing
Electrical
Central heating and boiler parts
Building supplies
Tools
Security
Light bulbs
I need some more paint but it’s one of those that b+q make up the colour instore so zero chNce of the bathroom being finished anytime soon.
April 8, 2020 at 7:55 pm #111392Mike I called my local band q it rang out, I tried to order online but it would not go through, I tried again a few times and it eventually said “out of stock” so I gave up.

PhiljbMuch less most groceries left free by the government, no diesel for weeks, but we are using more gas and electric not sure how much extra yet though.
April 9, 2020 at 11:44 am #111427Saving loads on diesel, in excess of £50 a week. Spending more as wife is online shopping.
She is also making scrubs for hospital staff, as they are desperate for them. So we have bought 65m of fabric so far, and assorted sewing gubbins. I also treated her to a £450 cover stitch machine too, but that’s just an early birthday gift to help her with the scrubs (it gives the proper edge/hem finish for strength).
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
