Are you burying your head in the sand?  I can see from some of the posts there are a lot of people doing exactly that!

Motability are certinly looking far ahead, maybe their customers are not.

If you lease a vehicle NOW today, for 3 years. When you return it in 2026, how much is it going to be worth?

It is important as that is how Motability sets the AP, on the vehicle value at the end of the lease.

An ICE car in 2026 has a lifespan of 4 years.  Who is going to buy that car is they have to scrap it in 4 years?

OK, PHEV and Hybrids have a few years over the 2030 cut off date.  But WHERE are you going find the petrol stations and WHAT price will petrol be?

Surely you do not think about the price and availability of petrol TODAY and transpose these figures to 2026?

What you WILL find in the next couple of years petrol stations as we know them will close as demand falls off a cliff.

The Refineries, have to change equipment and producction to another hydrocarbon and phase out diesel and petrol.

The price of a gallon or litre of diesel and petrol will become unavailable and astronomical in a few short years?

Are you burying your head in the sand?  Motability are cutting ICE engines vehicles…give it a year and they wont supply any petrol engined cars and diesel is already dead.

A few short years…..Surely you can see what is coming??

Looks like those of us that live in flats will be stuffed due to no prospect of  ever having access to home charging.

Some on here however, will think its acceptable and the quite normal to dangle a charge lead out of a 12th floor window ?

I very much doubt Motabilty will terminate a lease early and insist all ICE cars handed back. however, the likelyhood is most will have a hybrid by then anyway.

I personally think that if they started at the mild hybrid EV stage and then progressed up to the full EV over the next 200 years would be more believable
