Morning DD
Like most third party devices, apps etc, it’s always going to be part of a multilayer system, that will always include the use of the vehicles own system. For example ABRP, won’t preheat your battery, so you have to use another layer, in this case your cars inbult system. In a similar way ABRP, won’t tell you, if the charger your navigating to is on or offline, requiring the use of a third party layer such, as Zapmap.
All this does, is add a layer complexity switching between devices. Manufacturers, are starting to use Android Automotive, with Google upfront. Google maps, will become AI powered later this year (if not already), as such AI-powered summaries in Google maps tha willt describe a charger’s specific location based on helpful information from user reviews, which will will improve further becoming one with the car. As for now Zapmap can form part of Google maps, even 3d for a more seemless intergration. For those vehicles that don’t have inbuilt Google systems, Android Auto and Carplay, can still play a big part and intergrate the likes of Zapmap, even more if your good at adding API’s.
My point, adding another layer of complexity, to navigate to a location, ontop of going into the vehicles system to tell it to preheat and then checking the likes of Zapmap, to see if the chargers even workng all becomes a bit much and over complex.
I couls be talking through my @r$e mate, afterall it won’t be the first time😂
