RichjackdanHi Folks
ill shortly be choosing my replacement car on the scheme.
I know the new qtr starts 1st July, are there any rumours or certainties for cars coming on to the scheme?
Was looking at a Rav but see it’s no longer on it… any possibility it may come back?

MaccaSubaru are currently in discussion with Motability. Hopefully that will result in them joining the scheme again.
If they do join i’m hoping they offer the Forester, and not just the XV. ?

MaccaSo if the current dialogue does result in them rejoining the scheme, then its anyone’s guess what line up will be offered, but there are some capable wagons there.

Just had a look at the Forester and the spec of the base model (which presumably is all we’d be offered) is very odd. It has loads of kit as standard that you might expect to be chargeable options, yet it doesn’t have Sat Nav and it has a manual tailgate ?

steveSlight OT regarding “capable wagons” on my company car list a few years ago was an WRX S204 (?) 2005 variant with the uprated engine.
With a 400 mile weekly commute along the M4 it really was a heart and minds battle. But the likelihood of keeping it a 70 mph and a clean licence and parking it in the directors car park made me go Merc.
Some days I think back much like when my wife wanted a Golf rather than an Integrale

You wouldn’t have that dilemma if the Forester joined the scheme Steve! The performance and economy are both absolutely shocking. 0-62 takes almost 12 seconds and average fuel economy is below 35mpg. I know that Subarus are enthusiasts cars (my mother-in-law, a country type, had Foresters and swore by them) but figures like that mean that it wouldn’t appeal to the speed freaks or the penny pinchers.

MaccaThere is indeed a certain interest in this niche product. The Forester would certainly suit my driving style, and my eyes are open on mpg.
The Volvo we’re running currently is a 2 litre turbo petrol 2wd with an auto box. I drive it in comfort mode, and given that our mileage us low, and there are a lot of short journeys, mpg is mostly low, albeit decent on longer runs.
As for what spec of Subaru, if any, make it on, who knows ??♂️.
These things are never predictable. They may not join at all.
If they do join, the may only offer the XV. That vehicle would be no good for me as its too compact with a small boot, but it may suit some.
A dealer that i’ve liased with and who is in contact with the importer IM Group, suggested only the XV would make it on to begin with. More recently that same dealer has suggested the Forester in Sport spec may make it on.
Its all going on behind the scenes, and they may surprise us all and put a wide offering on.
Just gotta wait and see.

Seriously, the WRX was on the table, but you took the Merc ??
You must have the same regrets I’ve alwats had for ‘cleverly’ missing the opportunity to take a Forester when they were last on the scheme back in 2014
