Acceptable payment methods for AP

I have had problems in the past with my bank blocking large payments and am concerned it could happen again when I go to collect a new car.  Is it likely that the dealership would accept a credit card payment?  Could the payment be split between a credit card and debit card for example?

I can only speak of my experiences but I’ve often used my credit card if the dealer asks for an upfront deposit for “extras” with no problems but always paid the actual Lions share of the AP with a debit cards so can’t be sure about big payments.

You could ring your bank and let them know before hand so it doesn’t trigger fraud protection.

I split money between two banks hoping a lesser sum would be easier. The first bank I rang to do a transfer thinking it would be easier than doing from the app, but loads of questions of which some were downright stupid. It still ended up going through the fraud dept for further checks!

The 2nd bank I visited in person, which was alot easier and no issues with money going through.

This what I do just in case the bank triggers large amount leaving my account. I have never had a problem by doing this.

Neither have ever had a problem paying the entire AP with my debit card.

I paid my Renault small AP with a debit card but was told/know that they dont like to accept more than £100 via a credit card suppose its because they lose out
