I just wanted to pick someones brains. I have had the build date for my car but just wondered from others experiences what the delivery times might be from there?
Thanks in advance

Bit of a mixed bag Jon to be honest. So on time some not. But generally if there are no problems, then within 2 weeks of build date. Unless it built in Mexico.

PhiljbYour best bet is to ask your dealer Jon it does differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.
January 3, 2020 at 6:37 pm #102177All based on what they do after they build them – if all testing etc. is done during the build and there are no aftermarket things to do by the dealer, it’s a lot quicker than if they finish the build then move it into a queue for quality checks, and then the dealer waits for delivery before even ordering any other bits you’ve requested.
As per Phils suggestion, best off asking the dealer as they should have much more specific information on the way that THAT particular brand operates

January 3, 2020 at 6:50 pm #102178Thanks Gents, Hopefully it will come early Feb, Its still mad as a nearly 50 year old man I still get excited for a new car 🙂
January 3, 2020 at 8:58 pm #102182I’m 47 this year and looking forward to my new one in the next couple weeks but I do admit I’m looking forward to getting OUT of the current one as much as getting IN to the new one lol

January 3, 2020 at 9:24 pm #102183Colin if my memory serves me you have an XC60, same as me, but i love it.
Just shows how people differ.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.January 4, 2020 at 1:53 pm #102233Yes I have an XC60 but the truth is I’m a big old geek and the VERY last-gen tech (actually I’d say it isn’t even last-gen, it’s 2 or 3 generations old really) in it is really annoying me – I’m the guy with 3 desktop PCs at home, 2 at the office, 2 or 3 laptops around the place, a stack of tablets and the latest greatest when it comes to phones, etc. Hell, I’m 47 this year and my Christmas present was a VR headset for the Playstation lol. Add to that the horrible MPG I’m getting (over 25500 miles from new I have averaged 27.2) and I just want something new. The Tiguan has lots of toys to keep me occupied, hopefully for a while, as long as I can deal with the smaller boot 😀

January 4, 2020 at 4:12 pm #102251I ordered my Peugeot Rifter on 4/11/19 and was told sometime end of April/May2020 and was given 31st May pickup date, got a call day after boxing day to say it now has a build date on 14th January 2020 so should be ready shortly after my current lease ends on 29th of this month, can’t say I’m giddy as the Q1 list has sapped all that out of me TBH but it will be good to finally get rid of this turd I’ve been dumped with for the past 3 years, it doesn’t get quite as bad mpg as yours Colin but at 31mpg average over 42,000 miles it’s pretty rubbish too.
I am like you with the tech except triple it with bells on, I have all the tech plus I build and repair pc/phone/tablets, install networks/ip cctv etc etc(retired but still have a tech business) and like you I have just got half a dozen games, the G29 wheel + rig + chair, sony gold headset, 4tb hdd, extra controller + jump charger plus other crap for my PS4 Pro and I’m 50 years old(8 in man years).
I am looking forward however to the latest tech as I have ordered it fully loaded and if it just works it will be a step up over everything on mine that either works now and then or just not at all.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.January 4, 2020 at 6:09 pm #102274I’m an equal opportunist. PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii, Switch and more lol connected to various tv’s depending on the age of the user.
Yes I’m the big mean father who keeps the 55″ for himself and the wife and makes my 7 year old son play on one of his TWO 22″ screens. Not quite as spoiled as it sounds – he has a TV in his room connected to the switch and Wii (no live gaming), but his PC and Xbox are connected to a second screen in the living room so I can keep an eye on what he’s hearing and doing lol
I would like to apologise to the OP for beginning the process of utterly hijacking his utterly relevent thread with a load of utterly irrelevant (to the post) comments 😛

January 4, 2020 at 10:45 pm #102295Okay, back on topic, I was told almost 7 months for my Peugeot but that is looking like 2 – 3 months so it all depends on how many orders are taken for your model of car(5008) and I do believe it has been quite popular recently so it could be brought forward, you never know but the best way to keep up with it is to keep pestering your rep, fire off an email a week just checking if there is a build date yet, any developments etc etc and it might be sooner than you think, good luck.

JackOrdered in August and Collected end of November after the original car the dealer ordered was a GT Line and not a GT Line Premium. Since October MY2020 builds Peugeot have removed iCockpit Amplify and the aluminium pedals and scuff plates from the GT Line and GT Line Premium 🙁
