5 year old DPF

      Hi all,

Ive got an auto diesel Alhambra. I’ve extended and my 5 years will be up in April 22.

I have no idea what could replace my Alhambra, there isn’t anything suitable.

I have little knowledge of electric cars and there aren’t any to compare to the Alhambra anyway.

I am faced with maybe the only option being to purchase the Alhambra. My fear is, as it will be 5 years old and only covered 26000 mls, of mainly very short stop start journeys, am I inevitably going to be buying an expensive problem?

I don’t want to purchase,I want to stop on the scheme but the present climate is  bonkers.

At present I have to regularly go for a 10 mile run up the motorway just to keep it happy.

Anybody got any experience of 5 year old DPFs?

      Any advice appreciated.

      Regards,  wonky

Forget the DPF, the price Motability will want for it would be bonkers.

Far better off buying from a dealer and getting some warranty and probably a lot cheaper than Mota.

          What Vinalspin said.

Also, i’m not sure that it’d be the smartest option to buy a Diesel with your driving habits. Car size aside, you literally have not a single upside to a Diesel. Higher taxes, higher fuel costs, barely able to heat the car etc pp. You might want to check for a used Alhambra petrol (will probably end up cheaper than purchasing yours anyway).

            Hi Vinalspin and Rene,

Good points, I know Vinalspin had an Alhambra from previous threads.

            Rene, good point about petrol.

            Thanks, wonky

Hi Wonky, What about looking at the Ford Galaxy Titanium hybrid that’s on the scheme.
