At last, there is a selection of impressive electric cars for a more mainstream SUV family budget. Both the Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Kona Electric have big batteries and massive ranges – but which is the best electric car you can buy?

Unfortunately not but it shows what is available at a price point that could be on the scheme.

If we only discuss EVs that are on the scheme, we won’t have much to talk about lol.

I’m in Vancouver at the moment I can’t believe how many electric cars or hybrids there are in the city…….

Interestingly last week we were much more rural, further north in the west edges of Canada all V8 gas guzzlers……Our hire car was a very lazy V8 took an age to get it to move……

I3 charge point being installed next week…..

              Any idea on prices?

Prices after the £3500 government grant (taxpayers gift)

                Kia Niro 4okW ev – from £28000 – https://ev-database.uk/car/1137/Kia-e-Niro-39-kWh

                Kia Niro 64kW ev – from £32995 – https://ev-database.uk/car/1125/Kia-e-Niro-64-kWh

                Hyundai Kona 39kW ev – from £27250 – https://ev-database.uk/car/1129/Hyundai-Kona-Electric-39-kWh

                Hyundai Kona 64kW ev – from £32845 – https://ev-database.uk/car/1126/Hyundai-Kona-Electric-64-kWh

The current problem with both Niro & Kona eVs is the 12 months waiting list, but that will ease over time hopefully
