ThargGreat post, Brydo. Some v interesting, clever designs there. The “other videos” bit that pops up shows the most luxurious camper vehicles; all are about the size of a big artic and one which is amphibious!

GeorgieAlways loved the 1960’s Airstream ‘silver bullets’. Elegant.

ThargSadly, I don’t “have the money” and if I did, I wouldn’t spend it on an amphibious motor-home. Would get a proper launch like a Fairey Huntsman, Riva Aquarama or Cranchi Ellipse. How about you, Georgie? As you say, you live “near the sea”- got any interest and/or preference in (relatively) quick launches?

GeorgieWWII DUKW: 30ft long, 8ft wide – 2 1/2 tons of American Pride.
Six wheels (AWD) and enough room for a mattress, a fridge full of beer and a BBQ.

ThargDUKWs look seriously interesting vehicles. Four litre petrol straight-six which, they say, will push its six tonnes or so along at 50mph on land and 6kt in the wet stuff. Flat-bottomed hull would aid straightline progress but, afloat, they do not like turning (had an uncle who drove one during WW2). Would love to have a go in one!
