    If they built toll roads like the French I would gladly pay to avoid congestion, but I can see our lot taking a half hearted solution with short stretches of tolls to bypass congested areas like the M6 toll.

    OT It must infuriate the road builders when a couple of days after opening a new road a lorry drives along with a broken bit hanging off the back proceeds to carve a line down the middle of said new road. Who pays for that repair?
