    The ‘Collision Detector’: It has a complete meltdown every time I drive under the railway bridge in the A272 between Petersfield and the West Meon crossroads.  The bridge is brick and quite long, set at at an angle across a bend in the road – the sensors takes one look at what seems to be a sheer brick cliff straight ahead and shrieks like a very loud, shrieking thing.

    And yes, I do try to deactivate it on approach and deactivate it afterwards, but when I’m doing 55 – 60 in traffic both hands are usually too busy steering the car to start groping around trying to find the Off button.
