POPS, I agree that a well drafted deal would be the best solution to the impass we find ourselves in. But the EU will never agree a deal which does not a) attempt to punish the UK for leaving and b) attempt to dissuade other members from following our course. That is the reality of the EU. It cannot be seen to allow dissent from the Project’s objectives.
