Just a word of warning for those seeking proof of driving history from Motability’s insurers. For reasons that I have never understood, they place a limit on how frequently you can request them. It’s something ridiculous like once a year or even once per lease, so don’t ask for it until you are about to insure a car away from the scheme, or it may be out of date by the time that you need it.
Given that it’s a simple email or letter, I have no idea why they restrict it in this way, but their previous insurers had the same rule. I called them recently as I just wanted to confirm a past claim and they confirmed that this rule remains in place, so I just got the info that I needed verbally and will wait to request the written confirmation until the weeks before my new car comes and I’m in a position to buy the insurance.
