Has anyone submitted a FOI request to see what the mileage proportions are?
Even if we could, I can’t see what it would achieve. As a commercial business, Motability Operations are at liberty to impose a 10,000 annual limit to bring them more into line with commercial leases.
Where I think it goes wrong is that the punitive 25p per mile excess charge will price many higher mileage users out of the scheme who can’t really afford to go elsewhere. Therefore the excess charge should be around half that or, better still, have a menu option with APs for each car, where the AP varies based on how much mileage allowance you need.
