First off,
carrying on with our daughter’s plight to regaining her driving licence after her recent ban has ended.
The latest news is:
Her licence application is now in the hands of the DVLA medical department.
(so nothing going to happen quickly)
We’ve had previous experience with dealing with the medical department, so might have an answer this time next year if the most recent posts on the net are to be believed, but with only 7 months left on her original 3 year medical license, things might take an unexpected turn if dvla drags things out.

Moving forward from the time of the accident that ultimately resulted in the driving ban being imposed,
It has been Direct Line Motability (DLM) that have been lacking in so many ways,
add in the fact that DLM or Motability never mentioned that a driving ban would impose a total of 5 years of being unable the drive on the motability scheme! I’m not impressed with DL.
Personally I won’t go anywhere near DL for personal insurance now.
If we had been aware / made aware about the 5 years forced absence away from being able to drive a Motability vehicle, we could have had a plan B already in place.
On the plus side, the delays from dvla have given us time for a plan B & even a plan C,
both away from the motability scheme unfortunately, but some Independence for the daughter again.
