You could have the whole shebang on the EV3 for less

I really could.  The question is how much emphasis do I put on electric seats and boot plus HUD over space?  At the moment only my wife and I have sat in each, I found the EV3 a little claustrophobic with my right arm in the door, the EV5 we sat in was the GT Line and was incredibly comfortable with all the space I need.

There’s really not a huge amount between the Air and GT Line but what’s missing could be quite significant:

Folding wingmirrors doesn’t seem like much but parked outside I might as well put a RAF logo on the passenger’s side one and see who knocks the damn thing off, my bet is Amazon.

Electrical seats.  Not a major issue as long as they’re comfortable BUT when the Mrs finally passes her test, she’s going to want to be able to drive it too, which means moving the whole seat forward, down and that’d be much easier if it would have a memory seat function.

Power Tailgate could be an issue as there’s always one of us complaining the back hurts and this one is quite a sizable lump to pull.  I’m not sure if it’s  a deal breaker though, we’ve lived long enough without one…

Smaller wheels seem a better idea to me, as said, softer ride could easily make up for a few other sins given the state of our roads after several storms.

Body coloured door mirrors over gloss black, actually seems like the upgraded version isn’t an upgrade.  Remember the days when body coloured mirrors were the premium option?

Automatic handles are a bonus, they’re very much like the HI5 ones where you press one end for the other to pop out, difference is when it’s automatic you can see when the door’s unlocked.

Solar Glass Windscreen, I guess it’s a boiling car in summer which can be a problem.  We’ve had one of those and it made getting into the car quite an ordeal on the 3 hot days.

Headlights with adaptive beam, not having had them, I don’t think I’ll miss them although they do make the front look better.

There’s a few cosmetic things that make zero difference to me, like gloss black plastics outside and alloy pedals and the 4 spoke steering wheel.  As said, the grey headlining might be better than black.  The ambient lighting looks nice but won’t be the end of the world if it’s missing.  V2L I’ve used maybe 4 times and it’s the same with the phone wireless charger, there’s sockets and buying a metre long cable won’t bankrupt us.
