Whilst I have no idea about Minis in particular, I would say that this year isn’t going to be a fun one. We’re still expecting the VAT to be applied to APs from July and you’ll have to assume that’s not on the potential list for U-Turns. Thus what currently is £3,799 would then become £4,558 if everything else stayed as it is. Also, it’s a specialist car, which has been labeled as not being of Motability’s core offering, which has often resulted in being withdrawn. I’d not want to initiate anyone’s anxiety but I was surprised to see the JCW appear and I’d be even more surprised if it lasted the year.
I agree with every word. Very sound advice. With the way that Motability is going, a car like the Mini JCW is an outlier and ripe for removal. Even if it stays, as you rightly say, the AP will most likely jump significantly in July when 20% VAT plus Insurance Premium Tax gets dropped on to APs.
