I seem to be in the minority. The 20-80% thing works for rapid charging on a run. After 80% charging slows horribly (in some cars the last 20% takes longer than the previous 80%). That said when charging at a slower rate, there’s nothing wrong with going above 80%. I regularly charge back to full and there’s no further degradation in doing so. People forget there are buffers beyond the chargeable range to prevent an actual 100% charge.
All that rant done, at 55p it’s not looking economical to change, add in the ‘must go to charge’ and it becomes a pain, especially when you get back from an appointment and see you’re below your given minimum and know that regardless of other plans your day starts with a trip to the garden centre.
