14mm of rain overnight.
Currently much needed persistent steady rain which seems set in for the morning with another 7mm expected, before blowing over this afternoon from the west. Currently +15 degrees C.
Although it means another day ‘off the soil’ it is most welcome as the ground is absorbing it like a sponge.
At last the silage and hay fields have started growing again and the Spring cereal crops are looking less stressed/stunted.
Another two weeks of this will do most farmers just fine!
