So the electrician came to yesterday and fitted an Eastron meter. The system was playing up with one or two things not right. He was here for about four hours doing electrician stuff and he managed to get some things sorted. The system now sends the solar output straight to the grid, but highlighted the fact that I have two inverters and the the original is not a hybrid so can’t adjust it to send solar straight to the grid 😔.
I was having problems charching the batteries to full during the cheap electricity period from 00:30 – 05:30 hrs. He messed around with the settings and was confident he had sorted this but last night the batteries only took 25% of their capacity.
Another problem is that when a load comes on the battery doesn’t cover the entire load and sometimes doesn’t cover the load at all.
I might be wrong but what I was expecting to see when looking at my Octopus Energy app was heavy use during the cheap times then nothing on the app at all as the battery would be covering ALL the use for the rest of the time but it isn’t doing this, I have random loads on the app on and off all day.
If I had a gun and it worked.…….. at least id have something that worked 😤
So he said he’d be checking the system today to make sure it had worked and if not he would be contacting Sunsynk for help. Unfortunately I haven’t heard from him 😔
The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
