Dealer BS I’m afraid. If the car had really been in port in December you would have had it by now. I strongly suspect that they didn’t have a build slot when you placed the order and didn’t tell you that they’d have to sit on it for a while before placing the order with the factory. Sadly this happens over and over again with car dealerships and is more than likely the real cause of 90% of the delays that are raised on this forum. I’d be inclined to call a different Jeep dealer and ask what their realistic lead time would be if you ordered a Jeep Avenger today (specifically ask if they have any immediately available build slots). Armed with this info you can chase your dealership or potentially even threaten to cancel and re-order with the different dealership. This will usually result in things speeding up all of a sudden.
BTW, we have two things in common. Passing our driving test the first time (😇😂) and our first car being an Avenger – although my Avenger was made by Hillman in 1975 😂
