You say you may be challenged to find a reliable person to drive you. You can only have 3 people on the insurance policy and your friends can’t drive on their own insurance. You would have to nominate at least one driver when you order your car. This can be changed any time on the Motability website. There will be also be other issues if none of those driving the car live at your address.
A grant for driving lessons is usually only available if you are on a means tested benefit. They are not available to everyone but if you qualify it is a very simple process.
