And I thought my idiot contractors made a pigs ear of my wet room! (which they did).

I actually told them to leave when I saw the wiring in the loft, it was a complete rats nest just dumped on top of the loft floor.  The young kid (under 20) they had doing the work had never even heard of the wiring regulations!.

When the house was flooded out from a leak next door (every floor had to be replaced) my HA were very good, they took one look at the wetroom shower drain and said it wasn’t deep enough.  Sure enought when they dug it up the waste pipe wasn’t even sealed as standing in the shower had been pressing on it and the joint had failed, there was a pool of water sitting under the drain.  They dug a channel for the waste pipe and plumbed it in to the bathroom sink waste system and laid a new floor.

While they were in doing the work I also mentioned the mis-wired shower system, the shower pump controller had originally been fitted on an A frame in the loft! (so no way to manually start it to drain the floor if I was cleaning it).  They eventually moved it above the bathroom door, but with the control button facing to the ceiling and unable to be used.

Anyway, when my HA were doing the work I asked about moving it into the bathroom where it should be, in the end they let me do it myself and I re-wired the mess they’d made in the loft, they had three lots of 2.5mm cables in a junction box, one with the 240v feed to the shower pump transformer in the loft, one set of 24v from the transformer to the shower pump and one being used for the zero volt wires from the flow sensors in the pipes to the pump controller!.  All in the same box and none of them marked!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
