Hi @Dragonfly I am convinced that i didn’t get all the questions wrong despite the instructors saying that i was the only person in attendance with zero correct answers. Particularly in relation to the max permissible speed on a UK dual carriageway. My answer was ’50mph’ which according to them was wrong. I replied at the time ‘we’ll have to agree to disagree then’ which i must admit didn’t go down well with the instructors.

The national speed limit for a car on a single carriageway with no central reserve is

    60mph

The limit on a dual carriageway with a fixed central reserve is

    70mph

Another way a lot of people get confused is they think ‘Dual’ means 2 lanes (or more) in each direction .

One lane in each direction separated by a fixed central reserve is still a ‘dual’ carriageway.

The ‘dual’ means two separated paved surfaces .

The surface can be one lane wide for each .
