Morning all. I ordered a Q4 etron bank in September. Told should receive it in dec/jan. when my husband rang about the reduced AP he was told that would be no problem and that we should get the car in 5 weeks as it’s due for build this Monday. any advice welcome – are they still building the Q4 40 model or should I enquire about the new 45 model? thanks

As others have said, just ask the dealer to re-do the admin on the Motability system so that you pay the new AP. It only takes them a few minutes and makes not a penny difference to what they receive for the car. To be clear, they do not need to cancel the actual order (which is with the manufacturer) in order to do this, so it doesn’t affect the lead time for your vehicle. It’s just a minor admin thing.

A few people have mentioned the prospect of getting the more powerful 45 model as the 40 is being discontinued. I’m afraid that it doesn’t work like that. The only way that people will get a 45 version is if it comes on to the Motability scheme and is ordered specifically as one (it will have a different order number and, most likely, a higher AP). In the unlikely event that a current order for a 40 model can’t be fulfilled, a far more likely outcome will be that the order will be cancelled. I’m happy to be proved wrong, but that’s the way that it usually works out.
