Whilst I’ve been pleased to see that there are some cars up to £50k appearing on the scheme, they are all EVs. As Motability isn’t an environmental charity, and as someone else has already said, I’d also like to see ICE cars of this price point join the scheme, for those of us who do not want an EV for some years yet.
That would be great but it will never happen unfortunately. Imagine a Mustang V8 being on the list.
I’m not talking about muscle cars though Elliot. If a £50k EV can be on the scheme, then I see no reason why ‘normal’ ICE cars up to that value can’t. It’s not Motability’s purpose to push us in to EVs. That should be the free choice of customers.
Having been a bit underwhelmed by the new BMW X1 recently (albeit the dealer gave me the iX1 EV version), a BMW X3 in the entry level 2.0i petrol (which is the superb engine that we have in our current X1) would suit me fine. That costs less than some of the EVs that are now available to us.
