I was under the impression you had to have a smart meter fitted for EV charging. The reason being
that overnight charging is at a cheaper rate, and the supplier can only know that if the smart meter tells them when the EV charger is being used.
Currently if you only have a Paygo meter you will be paying a higher rate for charging your EV.
If there is no data link to your supplier, it will be rather costly.
I’m not sure if there are new Paygo meters that can differentiate EV charging is being used??
