To be honest, I’m not too worried about the lack of warrantee.
In my mind a warrantee for a car purchase is to protect against the unknown, despite maybe having the assurance of a service history or the assurance of the seller, you never know how a previous owner drove it or issues they may have had.
In this case, while there is still a small risk of the unexpected, I know the car car and it’s history, and I know how well I have driven it. To some extent, that is worth more than a warrantee.
I’ll redo my figures with the corrections people have pointed out.
If anything, the maths is the more important factor.
Oh, on a side note, my insurance quote might be high because of a small prang three years ago. Add to that a second driver who is in their 30s (albeit with no prior claims).
But, a new thing I have noticed on comparison sites since I last did a personal quote. Entering my licence details. Is this a new thing? Is it advisable? Feels odd giving it to a comparison site.
