Hi, does anyone think that the BMW X1 will make it to the next quarter? Also is there still a price cap? Some cars currently on the scheme are over the price cap, yet some models under the price cap haven’t made it onto the scheme. Doesn’t seem very logical. Thanks
In terms of price cap, I understand that’s an AP of £8,000 in terms of a retail price, with a few exceptions I feel that £50,000 seems to be the right point. However, there are cars slightly over that retail that can still get under the AP cap and cars under the retail that simply won’t allow Motability the kind of value where they can achieve the AP.
Sadly, for large BEVs, £50,000 doesn’t go very far. However, I can see that the limits are necessary as very few people will be able to stump up £8,000+ every 3 years cash, the scheme doesn’t want members to finance the AP, that’s contradictory to why they provide cars, so there’s a bit of a problem with these high AP vehicles.
