Hi @john
Sorry to hear about your father’s issues. So to answer your questions:
* If he does have to hand his vehicle back, will he have to make a payment for early return? I think in this case Motability may waive or reduce an early return payment. Usually this is £250.00
If your mobility needs have changed
If you want to end your lease early and leave the Scheme because your needs have changed, call our customer services team on 0300 456 4566 or speak to us using live chat. If we agree it’s OK to leave early, you’ll need to pay an administration fee of up to £250.
Once you’ve returned your vehicle, we’ll give you a pro rata refund of any Advance Payment you’ve paid. You might also be eligible for a pro rata Good Condition Payment.
If you paid for any optional extras when you ordered your vehicle, we will not refund these.
• Instead of the vehicle, will he receive any extra financial support in place of the mobility vehicle? In lieu of his motability car he would get the £71.00 motability car payment paid into his account in lieu of the car.
If he does have to give up his licence, then contact motabilty customer service. They will advise you on option etc. You could do this now if you wished.
• I understand you can have additional drivers on the policy, but do they all have to be registered at the same address? Yes you are correct about having addition drivers. No they don’t have to be registered at the same address. However. This comes with some additions. Theses are how far way the car will be kept from his home. over 5 miles it may require a tracker to be fitted. Remember the car has to benefit your farther, not other family members.
