@Matty, it depends where you charge.
Charging at home, the difference in cost is night and day, most will report a full charge for less that £15 depending entirely upon what your electric tariffs look like. Public charging is less clear, with many charging between 60p and 75p per kW the cost is near but still below diesel cars. However, some companies charge more, I’ve seen £1 per kW and even £1.50 in one car park out in the sticks. At those prices, it’s not economical, but those prices are rare and clearly taking advantage of the cost of living/high inflation to increase revenues.
I recently did a 450 mile trip in a 130 mile ranged MG ZS and it cost me around £47, I’ve no idea what petrol would have cost me, it’s 3 years since I paid for any.
